Testing, Make Every Projector's Performance Perfect
1. Preparation Phase (Critical for Consistency)
Environment Setup: Maintain a standardized test chamber (temperature: 23°C±2°C, humidity: 50%±10%). Use a stable, regulated power supply and a dedicated, clean power circuit to avoid fluctuations.
Instrument Calibration: Calibrate all measurement devices (light meter, colorimeter, sound level meter, thermal imager) before the test cycle. Prepare reference test patterns (ANSI standard slides for uniformity, focus, color).
Unit Conditioning: Prior to formal testing, condition the projector under test at full brightness on a static pattern for 30 minutes to reach thermal equilibrium. Document the initial firmware version and settings.
2. Core Stability Test Process
Extended Burn-in Test: Operate the unit continuously for a minimum of 72 hours in a high-ambient-temperature scenario (e.g., 35°C), cycling through various modes (High Brightness, Eco, Dynamic). Log any unexpected shutdowns, fan speed anomalies, or flickering.
Thermal Performance & Stress Testing: Monitor critical component temperatures (LED/Laser source, DMD/LCoS chip, main board) using thermal sensors. Conduct thermal shock testing by rapidly changing ambient temperature (e.g., from 15°C to 40°C) over short cycles.
Electrical & Signal Integrity: Test under variable input voltage (e.g., 90V-264V for AC models). Use an HDMI pattern generator to test for signal lock, HDCP handshake stability, and artifacts over extended cable lengths (e.g., 15m+). Include repeated power on/off cycles (≥ 500 cycles).
Mechanical & Acoustic Evaluation: Test auto-keystone, focus motor functionality repeatedly (≥ 1000 cycles). Measure fan noise in dBA at a standard distance (1m) in a silent room after 4 hours of operation.
3. Pre-shipment Verification
Final Functional Check: Perform a condensed 2-hour soak test post-packaging simulation (vibration test). Verify all critical functions: lens clarity, input ports, remote control/IR sensor, and WiFi/Bluetooth connectivity.
Critical Parameter Sampling: For each batch, sample units undergo a shortened 24-hour burn-in. Key metrics (luminosity, color accuracy, contrast ratio) are measured and compared against the initial data recorded during the first test phase. Any deviation beyond 5% triggers root cause analysis.
Cosmetic & Packaging Inspection: Ensure no physical damage incurred during testing. Verify all accessories, manuals, and correct regional power cords are included per shipping destination.
